What to expect before treatment
Patients are advised to avoid topical skin irritants like retinoids for 3-5 days and irritating treatments like waxing for 1-2 weeks prior to their treatment.
What to expect during treatment
Because of the nature of the treatment, Exion can be slightly painful. For this reason, we will traditionally apply numbing cream to the area about 20 minutes before the procedure which should alleviate any discomfort. Sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes each.
What to expect after treatment
After an Exion procedure, patients should avoid makeup, exercise, alcohol, and blood thinners for 48-72 hours. You should also avoid saunas, hot tubs, pool immersion, retinols, and exfoliants until the area is healed, typically 5-7 days after treatment.
